Real Estate

Reinhart has the largest real estate department of any law firm in Wisconsin. Our attorneys provide the full range of services required by developers and land owners, including land acquisition, governmental approvals, financing, leasing, tax incremental financing, governmental incentives and credits, zoning and subdivision approvals, and negotiating development agreements. Reinhart's attorneys are skilled at the complex and technical issues in construction law – the intricate network of legal relationships that bind owners, developers, general contractors, specialty contractors, architects, suppliers and insurers. The real estate and construction litigation team has experience in disputes involving contracts, damages, easements, eminent domain, evictions and foreclosures, land use, liens, water rights and zoning. Reinhart's real estate department also has a long history of representing clients involved in the development, construction, syndication and management of government-assisted housing. Our experience includes working with various HUD financing programs such as Section 236, Section 8, Section 221(d)(4), ELIHPA, LIHPRHA and Section 232, among others. Department attorneys also have extensive experience with WHEDA financing programs and City of Milwaukee financing incentives. They also have served as borrower's counsel and bond counsel in transactions financed with housing bonds.

Chambers USA lists Reinhart's real estate department among the leaders of all law firms in Wisconsin, with three of the department's lawyers noted as leading practitioners. Department members are consistently recognized as top real estate lawyers in Milwaukee and Madison, according to Milwaukee Magazine and Madison Magazine , and hold leadership positions in and are members of such organizations as The American College of Real Estate Lawyers, Wisconsin Commercial Real Estate Women, Wisconsin Land Title Association and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago.
